Funding the Extraordinary: An Evaluation of the Kresge Foundation Arts and Culture Program's Institutional Capitalization Grantmaking
Between 2010 and 2012, The Kresge Foundation’s Arts and Culture Program made 36 institutional capitalization grants, which focused on facility investments and building reserves, as well as grants to support shifts in organizations’ business models and capitalization. In evaluating those grants, NFF has found that effective capitalization in the nonprofit sector requires attention to three key financial priorities: liquidity, adaptability and durability.
