Moving Forward Together: Message from CEO Antony Bugg-Levine

Dear friends,

The election result and the contentious campaign it ended have exposed widespread divisions, fragilities in our commitments to each other, and the reality of how much work remains to realize our country’s ideals for all our people. My colleagues at NFF and I share the pain and worry that many of you and the communities we serve are feeling.

We also know that we must move forward together. For our part, we will continue to work hard to ensure that the generosity of donors and taxpayers, and the tireless efforts of social-sector professionals, get the results that all deserve and that our marginalized communities need. We will continue to provide advice, tailored financing, and accessible insights to equip nonprofit leaders to strengthen their organizations’ resilience and adaptability in the face of uncertainty.

Working to build a more effective and just social sector is not a partisan cause. We look forward to continuing productive partnerships with people of goodwill from across the political spectrum. Guided by NFF’s core values of Generosity of Spirit and Leading by Doing, we will collaborate wherever we can to build a more inclusive, just, and vibrant society.

My team stands ready to serve. As we have done through prior moments of fundamental disruption and change, we are developing and will soon share new ideas and approaches to fit, and help shape, our new national reality.
