BOOM!Health: Five Floors of Wellness in the Bronx

Thousands of Bronx residents count on BOOM!Health to deliver a full range of health care and social services with compassion. BOOM!Health offers harm reduction services, health care coordination, legal services, and wellness counseling with a particular focus on homeless individuals, many of whom are also struggling with substance abuse and HIV/AIDS.

NFF is providing $2 million in financing to help BOOM!Health acquire a 35,000-square-foot former furniture store and transform it into a 5-story Wellness Center. The Wellness Center will house a drop-in community center for LGBT youth, private consultation rooms for HIV/AIDS prevention services, a community health clinic and pharmacy run by Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, and a ground floor café. And the café won’t just sell lattes—it will serve as a workforce training center for the people who receive BOOM’s wellness services.
